Out for breakfast

Sometimes it really is a massive treat to go out for breakfast, isn’t it? Last weekend we went to La Petite Marche on St. Denis where we have often been before. Lately however, things have not been going in our favor and this review is to warn fellow Montrealers and visitors about the risks of going out for breakfast, here in particular.

Obviously there are some key times when a place gets really busy in the mornings- on the weekends. So if you can make it out of bed and to breakfast before 10 am you should be home and hosed. Also, unless you don’t mind a wait, you shouldn’t assume you’ll get very good service until noon at most places.

La Petite Marche is quite large, so it does get crazy busy, the seating waitress is insanely stressy though, which really puts a damper on breakkie. We waited over an hour on this particular day (partly for a table and then after ordering). When we asked what was happening, our other waitress told us she forgot to put in our order. We left. This little restaurant is really cute inside and has been good when it’s not busy. They tend to go more for quantity over quality. Ideally you should be able to get breakfast any time of the morning- cooked food should not be cold (numerous times now) and your order should make it to and from the kitchen within an hour.
