La Vieille Europe

This is not really a restaurant, it’s a deli, but they well deserve a review for their natas alone. Natas are little Portuguese custard tarts and at La Vieille Europe they make them just so perfect that both Beans and I agree- they get a 10 out of 10.

La Vieille Europe deli sells a wide range of imported products from all across Europe. It has pretty much everything you need to enjoy a traditional European meal. The store sells over 300 different types of cheeses from all the major cheese producers of Europe, as well as specialty meats, cold cuts, sausages, breads and over 30 different types of coffee beans, freshly roasted on the premises. It also has one of the largest selections of jams and teas, two particular English delicacies that we love, in all of Montreal. If you’re looking for some special treats they have crème brulée, caviar, truffles, heaps of condiments, tons of chocolate bars, spices and baked goods.

You can get a sandwich at the deli counter and a pretty good coffee there (some people rave about them, but we’re yet to be convinced) and if you arrive early enough in the day- you can experience a natas…
